lauren and carlos are sitting at el sombrero waiting for their order. "so, uhm, what went down last night with mellisa and brian?" he asked. "i honestly don't know. i know that they got into this big argument and he was like really pissed," lauren said. "that sucks." "yeah, it really does. i felt so sorry for mellisa," lauren said sipping her drink through the straw. carlos shrugged. "she took it from him though and she's going to run right back to him," carlos said. "it was just a mistake, carlos. brian doesn't act like that. that's not him at all," lauren defended. "i'm just saying that he did last night. brian gives me the vibe of a person who keeps a lot-too much-inside. i think he has a lot of anger and it just comes out more when he's drunk or stuff like that," carlos said. "you don't know brian, okay? it's not your place to judge," lauren snapped. "i'm not trying to judge him or anything. i just guarantee he keeps a lot inside. he needs to stop," carlos said. "well, you need to stop talking shit about stuff you know nothing about," lauren said. carlos laughed, "okay, okay. i really didn't mean anything by it." "just don't go talking to amanda about it. she's the last person who needs to know everybody's personal business," lauren said. "lauren, i know. i'm not gonna tell anyone anything. it's not like i know anything to tell," carlos said laughing. "good." "you're a good friend, lauren. you stick up for your friends and you don't just go along when people talk about them." lauren shrugged, "that's what friends do." "true, but a lot of "friends" don't," carlos said using air quotes. "yeah, but that's why there are quotations. i'm a quotation free friend," lauren said smiling. "we need more of those." lauren just smiled at the compliment.
