Brandon:
Once Brandon has begun an activity, a priority (perhaps the highest motivational factor) is to get it done, reach the goal, get a grade, produce a finished product, get the prize, etc. Self-satisfaction is tied directly to completed achievement. Pride is taken in setting the target, pace, and/or schedule for almost all activities. Motivational levels drop and Brandon can actually become frustrated, even stressed, when achievement is interrupted, terminated, rescheduled, or given a lower priority, thus delaying or preventing success in reaching the self-set or self-known goal. This is a major motivation or incentive common to self-employed persons, persons selling for commissions, and/or persons engaged in competitive activities. Motivational levels are highest for Brandon when in the limelight where recognition is earned, deserved, or given. Brandon is moderately motivated to manage others on a social or organizational basis. Brandon enjoys associating and interacting with people but likes independence as well. Brandon enjoys social or vocational interaction with others but is not dependent on direct contact and association. Brandon is interested in ideas, concepts, and meaning as part of perceptual and mental activities. Brandon's preferences can include routine, organized, and methodical procedures, but this is not a need or dependency. Brandon is generally not interested in or motivated by scientific research of a technical nature or in technical systems. Brandon is motivated very little by physically working with things and objects as a primary or important part of work. Brandon's preferences are oriented toward fact, reality, and tangible processes. Brandon prefers and needs change and variety. Change is motivating, stimulating, and energizing. Brandon looks for new options, challenges, assignments, acquaintances, relationships, and even new careers in new places. Brandon tires of sameness, repetition, and routine even in activities that were interesting at the start. Once things become routine for Brandon, this becomes a motivation to move on to more interesting things. Brandon is strongly motivated to be organizationally active with others. Brandon senses and accepts a certain degree of responsibility when working with others. Brandon accepts and exercises responsibility for organizational management but may not necessarily seek out that role. Brandon's preferences tend to be naturally empathetic, sympathetic, generous, and helpful. Brandon is probably always ready to help a friend in need. Brandon is motivated to influence and convince others as part of social, organizational, vocational, or recreational activities. Brandon willingly accepts responsibility for exercising motivated talents. These may include leadership and/or management positions. Most likely, Brandon is logical and analytical and is motivated to make sense of perceptions by identifying how things work. Brandon has good ability to remember, find, and use exact detail. Brandon indicates a moderate preference to work under the competent leadership of others or closely with peers. Brandon sees self as talented, self-sufficient, and goal-oriented. Most likely, Brandon regards work activity and goals as essential. Brandon is tolerant of routine sensory/physical activity that is tied to and timed by machine operation. Perception, thinking, logic, decisions, and actions of Brandon are more than likely based in fact. More than likely, all kinds and uses of numbers naturally make sense to Brandon and a preference to work with numbers exists. (NOTE: Mathematical talent is as much a natural gift as artistic or musical talent, even though few people, acknowledge that fact. But it is readily acknowledged as a natural gift by those that have it as well as by those who don't.) Brandon probably laughs, and understands exactly what is meant when Charles Schultz's Charlie Brown said, "How can you do new math with an old-math mind?") Brandon's preferences lean heavily toward the conceptual, theoretical, analytical, and computational in the awareness, use and application of math. As such, math is an important vocational asset whether it is vocational specialization or vocational application. Brandon's preferences toward 'literary and/or communicative' are, or could become, the basis for sufficient motivation. Brandon is aware of details for their own sake, and sees the linkage and relationship associating that detail with something important. Intellectual and/or analytical work, most likely represent somewhat important types of mental activities. Brandon's preferences and motivations most likely revolve around an adequate ability to see, retain, and recall detail. Brandon has clear preferences that do not include handling minute manipulation of detail for extended periods of time. Brandon's preferences revolve around reality, tangible evidence, practical utility, and talent and/or abilities gained. Brandon is not motivated for what is called `workbench' activity where a person manually completes tasks. Brandon has few artistic preferences, and where preferences are lowest, artistic talent has probably not been developed. Brandon's personal motivations support the willing acceptance of responsibility for planning, assigning, and supervising work activities of others in operational or administrative activities. Preferences focus on daily scheduling, procedures, expediting, motivating, solving problems as they arise, and meeting functional objectives. This sort of preference considers the prime responsibility as developing the will to work with employees and motivating them to higher levels of attainment and performance. Highly motivated persuasion means that Brandon intends to assertively, even aggressively, make direct personal contact with people. Brandon is motivated to voluntarily communicate to others. Brandon has motivation and, more than likely, the natural talent for assertively negotiating. Brandon is moderately motivated by being "on stage" in order to pleasantly influence others toward a particular viewpoint. Brandon is motivated to educate, which means to share knowledge that will be useful for the persons taught. Brandon does prefer considering people both philosophically, and psychologically. Rather than a motivation for putting others first, Brandon's preferences revolve around self as a first priority. Brandon's motivational level supports the ability (either existing or because of pending training) to be perceptive and alert relative to monitoring operational processes by use of technical recording instruments. This includes remaining interested, alert and responsible throughout steady operational shifts. This activity could appropriately be called operational/clerical because it means monitoring what is going on. Brandon is most likely not motivated to engage in activities requiring close, constant attention to precise standards. Engineering activities, regarding mechanics, systems, etc., do not fit Brandon's vocational interests. Brandon's motivations are not compatible with assembly line activity. "Being stuck to a machine all day" is not Brandon's definition for a satisfying vocation, occupation, or job. Manual labor is not an activity where Brandon is in any way motivated. For one or more of a variety of possible reasons, Brandon does not prefer working with heavy equipment operation. Brandon is not motivated toward processing activities, no matter what is being processed or who is doing the processing. Brandon is highly motivated for routine, factual, mathematical problems related to operational, procedural, or administrative activities. This includes good logic, analysis, and attention to detail. (NOTE: Business math may be motivated strongly enough to be the heart of professional or vocational activity, as a CPA or corporate accountant, for instance). Brandon is strongly motivated to coordinate: to take actions, to manipulate that which is at hand in order to get the results wanted/needed. Brandon has analytical, research, and innovative preferences. Brandon is naturally motivated to use and apply rational formulas, rules, systems, and/or procedures to deal with concrete variables where only limited instructions or guidelines exist. Emphasis here is on solving operational or administrative PROBLEMS that develop in familiar areas. This is commonly known as 'troubleshooting' and Brandon has a natural preference for the mental procedure of doing so. Motivation is derived from a goal of getting the "train back on the track". Although silly, Brandon probably sees the point clearly illustrated in a poem where a foreman reports a train wreck: "Off again. On again. Gone Again. Finnegan." (NOTE: This trait requires onsite familiarity with operations, a sense or suspicion of where things might or could break down, and savvy about ways to fix the problem). For Brandon, natural preferences can comfortably adapt to get into the "swing of things" and "go with the flow." Depending on the situation, Brandon generally prefers simple, routine tasks in a familiar environment. Logical explanation and education can be motivational for Brandon in some instances. This motivational level is based on the complementary interaction of a number of traits: social, leadership, influential, technical, service and functional. Review of all worker traits will identify Brandon's specific journalistic motivations and or preferences. Brandon has creative writing and communicating preferences that are important vocational motivators.
