Ghost President

“Why don’t you get some and follow me back to my place. We can hang out and indulge our bad habits together. That sound good to you?”
Adam nodded and opened his door a crack. He paused, as if he had something to say, and then opened the door wider, placing a foot out on the pavement. He glanced back at Cady in the car and said, “Isn’t it illegal to drive without shoes?”
Cady laughed, “It’s free living. You should try it.”
“No thank you,” Adam got out of the car, “I can live just fine with my shoes on.”
“You think you can keep up with my driving?”
Adam looked at her petite frame and at once doubted her driving skills.
“I can handle it,” he said nonetheless.
“Well, alright, big boy,” she said, pressing the gas down, her car engine revving.
Something about her wild, uninhibited look made Adam smile even when there was nothing to smile about. He wasn’t the kind to fall in love, but if he was, this would definitely be the girl he’d fall in love with.
